Phoenix Eggs?

(No, I know the image here has absolutely nothing to do with the title of this post or most of the content of it, but it does tie in with the last paragraph, I don’t have any pics from the one real event of the day, and you probably wouldn’t like to see a titular picture.) Seriously, every time Fawkes and Phoenix seem to be on the verge of consistently sleeping well, we get a night or two of bad sleep. Last night they were both awake a little after 11:00 with no signs of going back to sleep, unless kicking and flailing and making noise is a sleep sign we missed. Same thing happened just a little bit ago …

Lost His Luther

We had a pretty nice weekend. I’m writing this after the fact and it’s a little late, so I’m going to try to keep it brief. First off, I think Friday night was the best sleep Fawkes and Phoenix have had. Bottles at a little after 12:30, then I got up once a little over two hours later because Phoenix had lost his paci and Tristen got up two hours after that because he had pushed his socks off. Or something like that. That’s what our sleep log says. Actually, what it says is this: 2:40-ish Z paci for P, who was crying and had “lost” his luther. What does that mean? It means I put Phoenix’s pacifier back in …

The Fox and the Fire Chicken

Since Tristen was recovering from a stomach thing last night, I took the duty of taking care of the boys mostly upon myself. According to the sleep log we keep, I went into the room at 9:39, 10:24, 10:44, 12:02, (we fed them at 12:18, but Phoenix was crying right before that), 4:21, 4:51, and 5:19. The 5:19 visit included two extra trips back to the room just before I laid back down in the bed, and at that point I went ahead and brought Phoenix into our room. Tristen had woken up and had a spot ready for him. The best thing I wrote in our log was this: 9:39 P let out a shriek. Put paci back in jamas …

A Day of Sickness and Terrible Nappage

Don’t let the picture here fool you- the last day has been a little rough. Last night we switched the boys from their sleepsuits to pajamas, mainly because Phoenix has been getting out of his, and Fawkes has gotten an arm out a few times. I don’t know if that was the reason last night was a bit of a reversion or what, but I went into their room five times before it was time for their late night feeding. (I was messing with this site while Tristen was sleeping. Had I been working, she’d have been the one going in more often than not.) They woke up a few times after the feeding, too, though not until about 4:30. …

Milly, Ant-Man, and the Wasp

First let me say that Fawkes and Phoenix slept very well last night. There was a little fussing around 11, a feeding at 12:30, then nothing else until almost 5:00. The non-feeding incidents required no more than putting a pacifier back in Phoenix’s mouth and setting him back up on his boppy. And then at about 6:15 this morning Tristen found him fully out of his sleepsuit and turned completely around, with his feet up on the boppy. In light of that, we’re taking away the sleepsuits tonight and replacing them with footy pajamas to see how they do. So far I’ve had to go into the room to settle Phoenix down four times, and it’s not even 10:30 yet. …
