Milly Bridge

I walked into the living room today and heard Milly say, “I’m pretending to be a bridge.”  I looked up, and sure enough, there she was, pretending to be a bridge.  Where does she come up with stuff like that? As fun as that was, Milly didn’t have the best night last night.  She woke up three times last night.  One was for a very large and solid poop, another was because she wanted her blanket, which was by the door.  She wanted her sleeping bag too.  The Lambeths gave it to her last time they visited, but she never really took to it much.  She used it as a blanket last night, though tonight when she went to bed …

Milly’s Aquarium Adventure

A few minutes after 9:00, Milly left to go to the Aquarium at Fort Fisher with her Nana, Uncle Michael and Jenn.  I almost felt like I was sending her off on a field trip. They said she was good, though sometimes she didn’t know if she wanted to be held or walk on her own, and sometimes she was more interested in things like water fountains than the aquatic spectacles around her.  And towards the end Jenn said Milly was walking around like a zombie and bumping into people.  She was tired and fell asleep on the way home. She was awake when I went to get her from the van though.  She did one of her favorite things …

Eli Party Guy

We went pretty much first thing over to the Masons’ house today.  We’ve known them for a while, but we’d never gotten around to going over there.  Not only was it the first time we went to their house, but it was also the first time we met their new baby, Brynn. Of course, I didn’t get to stay there long initially because we were there for a chicks-only baby shower for Amy.  The dads among us who were there, being me, Nick and Gregory, took off with a slew of two-year-olds. I’ll say that Eli was greeted like a prince when he walked in the door.  Callie had been talking about him all morning apparently, and Milly is always …

Just So Fun

Milly has been so fun lately.  This morning she wanted to watch The Incredibles and asked me to sit on the couch with her.  She curled up against me with a blanket and paci and we watched most of it before I excused myself to get some work done.  Later, she and Amanda were playing with phones and Amanda had her call me.  She just babbled on and on about who knows what, but it was cute.  Yesterday she passed me in the hall and said, “Whatchoo doin’?”  She kept repeating it no matter what my answer was. She’s taken to spinning in circles lately, particularly right before she goes to bed.  She’ll either turn around and around or run in …

Milly’s Tent

Milly got under the kitchen table this morning and wanted me to get under there with her, which reminded me that Jamie Andrews had given her a tent for her birthday.  I told her to wait a minute and I’d have something to show her, so I opened up the tend and unfolded it then got inside it and called her to come over.  Once she got in it she was giddy.  I mean she was laughing and clapping, she was so excited about it.  Of course, there was only just enough room for me and her in it.  Later on Milly, Amanda and I all got in it and there was no room at all. Milly kept wanting me …
