Milly’s Second Birthday

The obvious thing to write about is how neither I nor Amanda can believe that our baby girl is two years old now and to talk about how fast it’s gone by already and before we know it she’ll be 20.  And that all happened, of course. We had a good day today.  Milly was in a good mood all day, fussing only a little here and there but never for long.  I got her up at about 8:15 and we played in the nursery for a little bit.  When we went downstairs she asked for yellow yogurt for breakfast.  The first one, I noted, was as yellow as her little table, which means that I put more food coloring …

Wind Down Day

Milly was in a very good mood at church this morning, especially while we were waiting in line at Grow Zone.  She was just very happy and playful.  Probably a leftover buzz from yesterday’s cupcakes. After church we met up with Erin and Britt and a friend of theirs, Tyler, for breakfast at Atlanta Bread.  Erin bought Milly a little brownie as a dessert to her muffin top.  Tyler took off after we left and the rest of us walked over to Barnes & Noble, where Milly played with the train set and picked out books for Erin to read to her, though she hardly sat still enough to listen to her Auntie Rin. Milly started letting us know that …

Neighborhood Traffic

Milly and I took a walk to the store this morning because we were kind of low on breakfastable foods.  I have never seen so many cars pass through our neighborhood as I did this  morning.  There are two entrances to our neighborhood off a semi-major road, and it just so happened that there was an accident in between those two roads, so police were directing people to cut through the neighborhood in order to get around the accident. When I got Milly up this morning I let her pick out what she wanted to wear, and she picked out a plaid dress.  One of my favorite pictures of her from the last year was taken in that dress, in …

NdotSmittyPOY.com

I got an email from Adam Rowe, the guy who runs Duke Hoop Blog.  He contacted me and a couple other regulars from The Devil’s Den, a Duke message board, with the idea of creating a website to promote Nolan Smith as Player of the Year.  We all had some emails back and forth and the site, NdotSmittyPOY.com was born. Milly had Amanda and me dancing with her before going to bed tonight.  It’s pretty cool to see how she communicates that she wants us to all interact together, and so much fun. Other than that, there was a lot of cleaning going on around this house today.  Ben, Jessica and Graelyn Lambeth got here around 8:30.  They settled in, …

Dancing and Walking

Milly was very good this morning.  Amanda and I let her pick out her clothes for church (she picked a light green shirt that had a slightly darker green little half-sweater over it, we took care of her pants, socks and shoes) and she wore pigtails, which is always cute.  Having all of her hair back makes her look even more like a grown-up little girl than a toddler. After church we went to Atlanta Bread, as we usually do.  Amanda went on ahead to order the food while I got Milly out of the car.  I was letting her walk up the sidewalk to the restaurant and Milly started dancing to the music that was playing, but she did …
