Dinner with the Whites

Milly was crying first thing this morning because she was knocking on the door while I was in the shower and I couldn’t come get her.  She got over it pretty fast though, and before long we were in the Escape and driving it to Jeff Gordon.  When we pulled up Milly saw Baker and said, “He’s going to show us how to get a new car.”  I asked him if he was tired of seeing me pull up in that thing yet. I was dropping it off to get the upholstery fixed, and fifteen minutes later we left there with a GMC Terrain.  As I was leaving I called Amanda and told her, “These a-holes gave me a Terrain… …

Help Help, Let’s Think About It

Milly came up with a game she called Help Help today.  She threw all the couch cushions on the floor, then you take turns standing on them shouting for help until the other person helps you off of them. On the way to the mall to meet up with Amanda and her grandparents she came up with another game called Let’s Think About It.  She would say “Let’s think about it” while putting her hand on her shin and cheek in a pondering pose.  Then I’d ask what we’re thinking about and she’d toss out whatever random thing it was at that moment. Milly hadn’t napped and was pretty fussy by the time we finished our lunch, so she came …

Milly’s Cleanup Efforts

Milly was up early, which she usually is not on Mondays.  She did a good job of letting me sleep while she watched PBS though.  Erin came up to say bye around 8:00.  She left her running shoes, which I only realized when I was looking for something to smash a spider with. Told Milly I’d give her some coins for her piggy bank if she cleaned her room, which was still covered in toys from when she and Rosa played on Saturday. She did a pretty good job with it. although as you can see she stuffed some of her baskets a little full. Told her when she was done that she could have three coins, which I pulled …

Milly’s Last Two-Year-Old Day

This picture is the last picture taken of my two-year-old, because at 1:10 in the morning, said two-year-old will have turned into a three-year-old.  I took it as Amanda and I were leaving for small group, because I realized I would never see my Milly Bug as a two-year-old again.  I’m being overly sentimental about it.  I asked her yesterday if she could stop growing and she answered “Nope.” We had a fun morning.  She woke up before I was ready to get out of bed, but she didn’t make a whole lot of noise.  When I did get up, I knocked on her door and she laughed and knocked back.  I said, “Who’s there?” and she said, “Me!”  I …

Valentine’s Day 2012

Milly was very friendly and playful today.  We were monsters: princess monster, tickle monster, happy monsters; we were princess and king, and Amanda, though absent, was queen; we were doggies: king dog and princess dog or baby princess dog.  Milly wanted to keep giving me tackles.  She also wanted to talk with Wolverine, which involved me holding a Pez dispenser and talking to her in a gruff voice.  She also had me give her two ponytails, which Amanda later turned into braids. She sang a lot too this morning: ABCDEFG, The Bitsy Bitsy Spider, Row Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I’m a Little Teapot.  She also started singing You’ve Got a Friend in Me, so I found …
