Milly’s First Meeting

When I got Milly up to go to the bathroom last night she told me she was sick.  I wasn’t sure at the time, but she was right.  She seems to have come down with a little cold. Been trying to get a meeting with one of my top clients for a bit and this morning was an available time, but of course I was going to have Milly with me.  One of the people there had been wanting to meet her for a while anyway, so I was told to bring her along, and thus Milly had her first meeting today. Before the meeting we filled up the gas tank and dropped a check off to pay for Milly’s …

Milly’s New Tooth

Barry told us last night to call the office at 8:00 to set up an appointment, but I got a text from him a few minutes before 8 letting me know that the office was about to call me.  They told me to just come on in, so I got Milly dressed real fast an we headed out the door.  When we got there Milly told me she didn’t want any shots.  I thought she was saying socks at first, but then I realized it was socks.  I told her she wouldn’t be getting any shots there. Barry and Jennifer, the assistant, were great with Milly, of course.  All Barry could really do was take a look and give a …

No Doughnut

Day started off with Milly waking up early at 7:00, but she was good, wanted to snuggle a lot and let me sleep for the most part. She wanted to take a walk to get milk and a doughnut, which we talked about on the way home from dinner last night.  She even said at the top of the steps, “I’m excited!” Walk was fine, but then we got to the store and she wanted to get in a cart.  I told her we weren’t getting enough stuff for a big cart and she could walk (trying to get her some exercise after she rode all the way there in the wagon) or push a little cart.  She got fussy …

Welcome to Duke, Rodney Hood

I learned first thing today that Rodney Hood chose Duke over Ohio State and a couple other schools yesterday.  He’s transferring from Mississippi State and was on the SEC All-Freshman team last year.  He was projected to go in the first round of the NBA Draft if he’d elected to.  He’s also 6’8″ and can shoot the three ball decently well, which is the type of player COach K can do great things with, so we Duke fans are very excited about this choice. Up just before 6:00, got dressed in dark jeans and a long-sleeved black shirt to run cameras at church today.  Given that it was over 100 degrees yesterday and I think it was again today, that …

Two Lost Dogs

I switched things up a little bit for my run today and instead of setting it on a free, no goals run, I set it to a 5K distance run.  I wasn’t feeling much like jogging this evening, but I found that setting a definite distance like that gave me a bit of a psychological boost.  The Nike app let me know every time I hit a half mile marker then started giving me distance markers until completion.  It kept me from glancing at it to see how far I was. As I was jogging today (I went the whole 5K and only walked after that for a cool down), I thought to myself how I’d told Adam the other …
