I Love You So (Much)

Went for a morning jog with Milly.  Asked her tonight before bed if we were going to do it again tomorrow and she said yes.  Didn’t quite make two miles.  Jogging while pushing Milly in a stroller is a bit tougher than otherwise, plus it’s been a little while for me.  I broke up the jogging and the fast walking a bit more than usual (out of necessity more than anything else) and found that my knee didn’t hurt. Amanda and I were talking in the office about something or other today when we heard a tinkling noise. We both paused and looked at each other then went to the bathroom to find that Milly had gone to the bathroom …

Happy Birthday, Baby

Not a whole lot to talk about for my day.  Milly went to the Arboretum with Karen.  It was nice out and I decided to take a walk to the store and saw them on the way back.  Milly seemed pretty tickled to have me in the van with her.  She and Nana played for a few more minutes when we all got back then Milly took a nap and Karen took off, but not before giving me a little something for my and Amanda’s anniversary, which is tomorrow. I heard Milly knocking on her door right before Amanda got home.  I kept working for a bit as I’ve got someone who wants to go live with a website tomorrow. …

Princess Mouse

Today was my brother Adam’s birthday.  I posted a message on his Facebook wall and I meant to give him a call, but every time I thought about it it was work time or I was driving and just about at my destination, so I put it off and ran out of time.  Sorry, Adam.  I was thinking about you though, for however much that counts. It was also Aunt Reggie’s and Gregory Mason’s birthday. Milly was up early yet again this morning, and yet again she stayed in bed and mostly let me sleep.  She grabbed my hand a few times and held it, which was really sweet.  What was annoying was that Cobb kept scratching at the carpet …

Vegas Log: So Long, Vegas

As we were taking off I reflected on the people we met while we were in Las Vegas and how much I like them all. I also thought about how utterly awesome it was that we got to experience Vegas not as regular tourists, but as people with the means to truly experience it. I don’t mean that in a snooty way, just that we got to enjoy living beyond our means without consequence. Our plane did a bit of a circle and I kept an eye on the Strip until I could no longer see the Encore, which was one of the last casinos we saw given the direction we went. I’m pretty sure we saw the Grand Canyon …

Gird Your Loins

Milly woke up crying last night.  I’d fallen asleep on the couch and hardly remember going up the stairs, so I was up there before I really remember being awake.  She was complaining about pooping in her diaper, but she actually just peed.  It wasn’t even all that much, really. She woke up crying again, this time as soon as Amanda was out the bedroom door.  She got in bed with me, but was pretty squirmy so I didn’t get much extra sleep.  I got some, but not a lot. We’ve got this new game where she slides off the bed onto a stool then jumps into my arms, then I throw her back on the bed from the floor. …
