First Time Technical Directing

I got up at 5:30 this morning to go volunteer at Port City Community Church.  I guess I’ve been doing that for about three years now (Really – wow!) but this was the first time I’d done it in the new church building. When  the church was held at Roland-Grise Middle School there was equipment, props, info booths, video stuff, lighting rigs, video screens and all sorts of other things that needed to be set up, so volunteers arrived at 6am to get things ready for the first service, at 8:30.  Since none of that stuff had to happen anymore I wondered about the need to get there so early. Photo Site Designs

Amanda convinced me that I need to work on a photography site, and she’s right.  I wanted to do something pretty simple so I looked at a few other sites to get some ideas and these are what I came up with and I just need to decide if I want to go light or dark.  I’m leaning heavily towards dark, but I want to get some input from some other people first. The Plastic Coating on the End of a Shoestring

I ached a bit when I woke up this morning from pushing all the leaves in the backyard into what is now a still-smoldering pile of ashes.  Actually, it may have quit smoldering by now, but when I last checked late this morning, there was still some faint smoke coming from it.  Despite that, I willed myself into the regular 15 minutes on the elliptical.
