Teenage Dream

Up around 8:30. Milly mentioned pancakes so Amanda made some. Played with Milly and her Groovy Girls dolls for a bit. Amanda gave me a haircut after Milly went down for her nap. A bit of Assassin’s Creed. Amanda finishes up clothes. Went for run around 3:30. Legs and ankles still tight after two days, but wanted to do it anyway. 91 degrees outside. Jogged faster pace but ended up walking more than jogging. Gavin, Kristen and Maddox came over for a bit. Amanda left with Cyra around 6 to see Teenage Dream, a Katy Perry cover band put together by David Pray.  Sounded like they had a good time.  Took Cyra’s nephew, a big Katy Perry fan. Milly wanted …

Father’s Day 2012

Church, Milly wanted to play with toys. Somehow ended up at church earlier than usual.  Rosa was in Milly’s room. Hausers came over afterwards, had waffle breakfast with us, Erin and Adam. While playing upstairs, Emil had knocked into Harvey’s food bowl.  The next time I went upstairs she asked what was that sound and said something about Harvey’s bowl.  Blown away by the things she knows.  Hausers hung out just a little bit.  Took Reece’s truck with bed in it.  Amanda’s parents had brought them a bed they wanted from Family Ministries and they needed to somehow get it home. Adam then Erin left.  Milly and I took naps, Amanda went out to get Father’s Day things.  Got me …

Milly’s Last Two-Year-Old Day

This picture is the last picture taken of my two-year-old, because at 1:10 in the morning, said two-year-old will have turned into a three-year-old.  I took it as Amanda and I were leaving for small group, because I realized I would never see my Milly Bug as a two-year-old again.  I’m being overly sentimental about it.  I asked her yesterday if she could stop growing and she answered “Nope.” We had a fun morning.  She woke up before I was ready to get out of bed, but she didn’t make a whole lot of noise.  When I did get up, I knocked on her door and she laughed and knocked back.  I said, “Who’s there?” and she said, “Me!”  I …

The Nineties

Just now I was looking at a list of 90’s music on Spotify.  (Spotify is amazing, by the way.)  I was reading through the list, clicking here and there to hear parts of songs, and man, I was attacked by so many flavors of nostalgia.  I mean, the 90’s covered my life from sixth grade, when I feel like I was really become self-actualized, all the way through high school with all the emotional turmoil bundled into that and into my college years with all the strange and good times that come with that.  That’s the decade that formed a lot of who I was to become, and hearing so many snippets of songs that make me feel such a …

Dresses Done

Amanda has finally ordered a bridesmaid dress for Hannah’s wedding.  I feel like I’ve heard about nothing but over the past week or so, so huzzah!  The dress shown, by the way, is not the dress she ordered, but rather one she bought today then asked Hannah if it would work.  Amanda thought it might be too dark, and it is, which is what lead Amanda to making a decision on the dress to buy for the wedding. Milly woke up around 7:00 this morning while Amanda was in the shower.  She was banging loudly on the door, so I went ahead and l got her and put her in bed with me.  I overslept a bit, getting up around …
