Work All Day

It rained a lot this morning.  The satellite actually went out briefly, which upset me because while it was raining pretty hard, it wasn’t that hard.  Hoping it was a fluke. I was very busy from the time I got up until the time I quit working around 6.  I was a bit worn out. Amanda’s knee wasn’t bothering her as much as it was yesterday, but it still hurt her.  Despite that, she took Milly out to get frozen yogurt at Brrr Berry with Monique, Rosa and Emil and the Warkentiens, though I don’t think Nick was there.  Milly and Rosa posed for some pictures.  This one was the best.  Milly almost looks like a grown girl in it. Amanda …

Wings Contest Runner-up

I suppose it’s one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. There was a leaders meeting at Port City Community Church tonight, and before it got started Paul Klouse came around and asked if Amanda or I would volunteer for a hot wing eating competition.  I said I didn’t even really like wings all that much and I didn’t like hot food, but Amanda did so she reluctantly agreed. When they were asking for volunteers Amanda raised her hand.  I pointed her out in order to make sure she’d be seen, but the person on stage took it as me volunteering her, so I got called up too.  Given what I already said, I didn’t think I’d do well. The …

Learning Moves

Today wasn’t overly eventful. I stayed busy, Milly behaved throughout the day, Amanda went to work and came home then took Milly to dance class. Milly did get her outfit for her recital which is coming up in June.  Amanda told her she could put it on for just a minute to show it to me, so she put it on and did a few of her moves.  It’s cool that she’s actually learning and remembering them.  A few days ago she was even humming some classical music.  I can’t remember which song it was now, but I think it might have been from dance.  I don’t know where else she’d have heard it.  Oh, Little Einsteins perhaps. Anyway, after …

Louisville and Michigan

I honestly didn’t much care who won the NCAA championship tonight.  I’ve got cousins who go to Louisville, plus they’ll be in the ACC in a couple years, so it adds to my home conference.  They were a favorite all year though, unlike Michigan, and unless you’re going for the favored team, you kind of want to see the other guy win.  (Why is that?) It was a good championship game.  Michigan lead for the first half.  Maybe all of it, I can’t quite remember.  They got up to a double digit lead, then Hancock from Louisville scored back to back to back threes and a couple more points and before you knew it, the game got close.  Louisville ended …

Shooting Up High

I ran a camera at church today, so I was up nice and early.  I wasn’t too tired, despite staying up later than I usually do on nights before serving, and I didn’t even take a nap today. I heard Milly crying after I woke up so I went to check on her.  She said she’d had a horrible dream, but couldn’t remember what it was.  I got her settled down then went about getting ready. The way the stage is set up at church right now the piano and drums are up on a riser a good, I don’t know, 15 feet off the ground?  (I’m bad at estimates.)  I got to shoot up there today, which was pretty …
