The Wonder Pets Blow Your Mind

Tuck is a pimp

You know what blew my mind more than anything else today?  Wonder Pets.  There was an episode about a punk rock skunk looking for a band, and at the end of it I noticed Ming Ming had a skirt, so I suddenly realized that Ming Ming was a girl.  It made sense after I thought about it for a minute. That wasn’t what did it for me though.  Here, I’ll post a the Twitter conversations I had then the Facebook one. ZdotC10:37am via HootSuite I only just now realized that Ming Ming is a girl. thedevilwolf10:38am via Web @ZdotC oh come on nickwarkentien11:26am via Tweetie for Mac @ZdotC I came to that same realization about 50 episodes in 🙂 nickwarkentien11:27am via Tweetie …

Small Group Connection

Slept until 8:30, Milly was up and cheery. Very needy though, and there were things I needed to do. Ended up very frustrated. Cute though: “Help you” apparently means she wants to pull me out of my chair. Had a long conversation with Scott about some big changes. Pretty busy day. Dropped Milly off at Johnsons’. Squealed when she saw Jacob at the door and kept saying his name. Jacob was excited too; he kept running to the door then running away. We went to help out at the small group connection.  We hung out with Kays and Boscaljons before it got going. Lots of young couples this time. Probably picked up too many for ourselves. We’ll see how it …

Just So Fun

Milly has been so fun lately.  This morning she wanted to watch The Incredibles and asked me to sit on the couch with her.  She curled up against me with a blanket and paci and we watched most of it before I excused myself to get some work done.  Later, she and Amanda were playing with phones and Amanda had her call me.  She just babbled on and on about who knows what, but it was cute.  Yesterday she passed me in the hall and said, “Whatchoo doin’?”  She kept repeating it no matter what my answer was. She’s taken to spinning in circles lately, particularly right before she goes to bed.  She’ll either turn around and around or run in …

Face Full of Ice Cream Bowl

Milly entertained a pretty good-sized crowd tonight during dessert.  We were at Anna and Barry’s and were all eating ice cream (well, chocolate-vanilla swirl frozen yogurt, technically) and Milly wanted more, but there was no more.  She did have the melted remnants of some at the bottom of her bowl, so Nana picked it up for her to drink, as she does milk from cereal bowls.  Milly buried her whole face in the bowl and made such a mess of herself that everyone offered up their bowl to be next.  Milly enjoyed herself, but I think we all enjoyed watching her face disappear into the bowls even more. Aside from that it was our pretty average Sunday.  Church, Atlanta Bread, …

Milly’s Second Birthday

The obvious thing to write about is how neither I nor Amanda can believe that our baby girl is two years old now and to talk about how fast it’s gone by already and before we know it she’ll be 20.  And that all happened, of course. We had a good day today.  Milly was in a good mood all day, fussing only a little here and there but never for long.  I got her up at about 8:15 and we played in the nursery for a little bit.  When we went downstairs she asked for yellow yogurt for breakfast.  The first one, I noted, was as yellow as her little table, which means that I put more food coloring …
