One of the first things Scott and I talked about today was a raise. He started off saying he’d decided to give me a 5% raise, which is about what I was hoping for. He then told me a list of things that he wanted me to work on, and if I showed enough improvement he’d bump it up to a 10% raise. Pretty sweet huh? Of course I’ve got quite a bit to show to get it. Most of it involved organizational and management skills.
Not too much exciting happened other than that for most of the day. I had a client call at about 4:30. He was a bit upset at not being able to get in touch with Tim when he had all of the things together that he wanted to talk about. I ended up talking to him for literally an hour and a half, but at least he was happy by the time we were done talking. I wasn’t finished working until about 6:00, and since I figured I wouldn’t be back until around 8:00 I didn’t go to the gym. Weak excuse, I know, and I felt bad, so I’ll definitely go tomorrow. (And so it starts?)
Michael had come by to do some laundry. He left later but came back for dinner, which was salad and tortellini. He left again after a while and me and Amanda just hung out and spent some quality time together. She went to bed around 10:00 and I caught up on all of my DVR stuff. That was a few episodes of Entourage and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
I enjoyed Entourage. The episodes I watched spanned the making of their film, Medellin, up to finishing it and sending it to Cannes. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was okay. It’s been a really long time since I read the book, but one thing I felt about it was that it didn’t focus on any of the “normal” everyday stuff at Hogwarts. I really like Alan Rickman but his Professor Snape didn’t figure into the movie much. It was decent I guess. Thinking back I feel like I had a hard time concentrating on the movie for some reason.
The chapter in Night Lights, a book of nightly couple’s discussions, is about sex. Just thought I’d mention it.
