In Yo Face, ISP Service Guy!

Today was a little busy at work.  I didn’t think it was going to be, and when Barry Frazelle called at about 12:30 to ask me if I wanted to go surfing, I thought I might be able to kick off a little early (though not that early), but the phone kept ringing and ringing. One series of calls was actually very satisfying.  I’ll try to do a short version of this.  So here’s what happened.  A client called saying they could receive their e-mail in Outlook, but they couldn’t send.  The first thing I had them do was log into their webmail, which is a direct connection to the server, and have them try sending from that.  They did, …

Another Bruce Adventure

Yay for the Warkentiens!  Eli finally gets to check out his home, and Gipper, the skittish cat, will probably go into hiding for at least the next eight months. From Nick today: Last night, Eli started to eat really well! He started going to the bathroom regularly, which really helped him to perk up a lot. He had only wanted to sleep all day yesterday, which made it hard to feed him. Now, he is often awake and alert, and when he tries to feed, he latches on almost immediately and eats really well for about 20-25 minutes straight. This has gone on all night and all morning. It’s such a relief, and much easier on Amy. She is able …

Phone Calls and Conversations

Well, my toe(s) didn’t hurt as bad as yesterday, which is good.  I considered sleeping downstairs last night out of fear that Harvey might accidentally step on my foot and I didn’t like the idea of putting my feet under the covers.  I ended up doing it anyway, though I spent most of the night with both of my feet sticking out of the covers.  Would have just been my left leg/foot, but Amanda sleeps on the left side and I wanted my toes pointing up. Anyhoo, I think I’m pretty much caught up with work already, which is good.  I’ve got a meeting set for tomorrow morning. Since I still wasn’t feeling too active, plus the fact that we’ve …

Missing Glasses

We went out for another surf session a little after breakfast.  It was a lot less populated out in the water so it was nice not having to worry about people running into you or giving up so many waves because someone else had caught it first.  Had a good time. Chilled out for a while.  Took some more pictures, organized some I’ve already taken.  Will be a while before I have them all sorted out like I want because a lot of them are panoramics or stitched together. Ate lunch at Marlin Bill’s, a place with a bit of an American selection with a nice view of the ocean.  The waitress didn’t look like she was from Costa Rica …

Michael Mercer’s Car Got Towed

Michael Mercer’s car got towed today from his apartment complex.  As best we can tell, his parking tag fell off his window and blew out.  Amanda picked him up, took him to the towing company, then had to go to the bank because they only accepted cash, went back and paid it (we’re getting paid back) then headed on back to work.  She was pretty upset about it, and not at Michael. I had a talk with Jeff Winchester about our small group today.  Amanda and I e-mailed him some thoughts on it last night and he called me back today.   I’ll get more into that as the story develops. After work I went over the the Warkentien house to …
