Homemade Studio

Amanda noted this morning that we’ve been getting to church a little later lately while also acknowledging that she’s been getting to work a little later as well, chalking it all up to being pregnant. She hasn’t actually been late to either one, just later. I really liked the sermon today. I felt like our preacher, Mike Ashcraft, was having an individual conversation with me. It wasn’t so much what he said, but how he delivered his message today. I got the feeling that I’d we were discussing things over lunch, he would talk much to me by myself like he did to me in a large crowd. Jeaneal Guy sat next to us. I looked right through her when …

Can’t Get a Break

Amanda and I did like usual and got up and went to church this morning.  We stopped by the grocery store and got some bagels on the way home and had those for breakfast.  After that we took it easy for a bit then Amanda dragged me out of the house, bribing me like a five year old that if I went to the mall with her (to get a present for her mom’s birthday) she’d buy me a cookie. I went, but I whined like a little kid half the way there.  Well, to the gas station anyway.  She had me go then she made me pump gas for her.  To top it off, the gas pump she went …

Pajama Pants at Chick-Fil-A

Amanda and I got up, put on pajama pants, called Nick Warkentien and went to Chick-Fil-A.  They were giving a free breakfast entree to anybody who showed up this morning in pajamas.  They were even really stringent about it.  Amanda and I had someone make a judgment call on our pants and the people behind us in line didn’t get free food because they were told they were wearing “jogging pants”.  Good thing I let Nick put on some of my ‘jamas before we left the house. While we were there Hannah Frazelle and Maddie Allen showed up, also in pajamas.  We were done eating by then, but they joined us. After that the three of us, Amanda, Nick and …

Pregnancy, Week 20

Forty weeks is the generally projected as the time a baby is expected, which means that Amanda and I have hit the halfway point.  In honor of hitting the halfway point, I think I’ll share the name we’ve (probably) finalized for our little girl. Originally we were naming her Lillian Isabelle, but we decided that both of those names were too popular, which is a shame because I really liked the idea of calling her Lillybelle.  We went through a few other names and thought we’d landed on Maggie Jane or Maggie May.  Both of those are really cute, but we just weren’t settled on them.  On top of that we’ve got some friends who are naming their baby Maggie, …

Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas! Amanda heard a little bit of noise downstairs this morning around 6:30 and, noticing Harvey wasn’t in bed, asked me to make sure he wasn’t nosing around in the presents.  After we came home from church a few weeks ago and discovering that he’d had his way with a few things that were lying around I thought her request was a sensible one.  It just turned to be my mom, who was already awake and moving around.  I ended up staying up and chatting with my parents.  Amanda eventually joined us and we decided to take a walk around the neighborhood with the dogs- Bruce, Harvey and Schatzi.  It was nice enough out that my dad was wearing …
