December of 2019

or Griffin’s First Christmas and many other things There was a lot going on in December, as there usually is, and I was very slack in recording it, as I now tend to be. So you’ll get some highlights. Berkley had a birthday get-together at the Pollard homestead. Tristen and I took the babies over there a little early and left before everyone got there, but we at least got to see some of the people we used hang out with when we were interesting. We had a family photo session from La Bella Me, Shannon, who is our friend Leslie’s sister. She did some for us last year too and they turned out great. We got dressed up and …

Addy’s Seventh Birthday Weekend

Most Milly weekends start out when I pick her up from school on a Friday afternoon.  This Milly weekend started out at about 7 AM when I picked her up from Amanda’s and took her to school.  I was a WatchDOG dad today, meaning I got to hang out at her school and help out around there. WatchDOGS I love doing WatchDOGS.  DOGS stands for Dads of Great Students.  It’s a volunteer program where a dad (or father figure) helps out around school for a day.  This was my fourth time or so and I signed up to do it once every month this school year.  Milly really likes it too, which of course makes me feel good. First we …

Catch Up

I have been so, so slack on here. I haven’t even been making notes like I usually do when I get behind. I blame it on a few things. First, I was sick Milly and I both were, but she was for longer. She even had a night where she threw up. It seems like until recently we didn’t have a week go by this year yet where everyone was healthy. Secondly, I blame it on the Walking Dead video game. I was addicted to it, so I had to go ahead and beat it. I was like Heavy Rain, where it’s more like you’re playing out a movie than playing a game. It actually had some touching moments in …

35th Birthday Party

Good bit of work early.  Meeting (no-show, second this week), dropped off one data CD and picked up another, phone meeting that I took while in Port City Java.  Michael wrote bad things about Duke on the steamer cup I had.  Saw Anna and waved to her, but I was on the phone at the time. Decided to check out office spaces.  One at Cotton Exchange, one on 4th street.  Cotton Exchange is a nice location, but it was kind of in the bowels of the building, no light or anything, and it wouldn’t likely fit enough people.  Really liked the one on 4th though.  Standalone building, good space, fenced-in yard in the back.  Just looked at it from the …

Out for Monique’s Birthday

I fell asleep on the couch last night and woke up around 5:00 when Harvey tromped down the stairs and nuzzled my hand so I’d let him outside.  I wasn’t too tired, so I figured I’d get up and start working.  It was a pretty productive day. Amanda went out with a bunch of other ladies for Monique’s birthday to a wine sampling place tonight.  We picked Jennifer up then went to the Johnsons’, where Milly and I hung out with Reece and Jacob.  Milly an dJacob played a good bit of hide & seek then we put them to bed at 8.  I brought Rivals of Catan, so Reece and I played a couple games of that.  We’d have …
