Amanda’s First Yahtzee(s)

The girls, that would be Amanda and Milly, went out for a bit today.  I think they really only went to Blue Moon, where Amanda was scoping stuff out with the idea of possibly getting back into making jewelry.  After they got back they spent most of the day upstairs where Amanda played with her jewelry-making supplies. Milly was happy today, and she was a lot of fun.  One time when I took a break to check in on them upstairs, Amanda was playing with Milly.  She was very smiley and talkative.  She’s just so freakin’ precious, especially when she’s feeling sociable. Amy came over this evening after Amanda and I got to spend some time together while Milly napped.  …

Saturday Downtown and Cooking Out

We started the day off with a big breakfast of eggs, deliciously crispy bacon (thanks, Ben!) and blueberry pancakes.  I made the pancakes (well, poured the batter out of a pre-made mixture) and this is the first time I ever put anything in them.  Amanda’s expert advice was to let them sit on the griddle for a little bit then add the blueberries, that way they would settle in the middle.  It turned out to be good advice. After breakfast we, the Dotseys and the Lambeths, headed downtown for the heck of it.  Ben wanted some coffee, so we went to the Port City Java where Michael works, even though Amanda called him while we were on the way and …

Mercers at Indochine

Being that today is Good Friday and many people are off of work, I wasn’t expecting it to be too busy for me today, and for the most part it wasn’t.  I kept an eye on e-mail and answered any calls that came in, but there weren’t too many. Amanda and I started off the day by taking a trip to Panera.  For the last couple days I’ve been wanting a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich.  Not just any bacon, egg and cheese sandwich though- I wanted one loading with crispy, crunchy bacon, and a little on the greasy side.  I didn’t think we’d find something quite like that at Panera, but it didn’t matter because we got there too …

Sghetti & Bready

I ended up watching the entire first season of Entourage last night. The Xbox 360 has decided to not work again.  I’ve tried it a few times today and while the sound is working fine, the picture, unfortunately, is not.  What makes it even worse is that my buddy Jason Revill finally got Left 4 Dead, but now I can’t play it with him. My boss, Scott, was in town today.  He and his family went to Wrightsville Beach for a little weekend getaway so we got together at Panera for about an hour and a half while his wife and two girls were at Mayfaire.  He caught me up on a few techniques he’s been using for some updates …

Gummy Worms and Catan

Work wasn’t overly busy today.  There’s one client who gave us plenty to do, but she’s pretty easy to get along with, and she’s pretty savvy too.  There are things she can do for herself and she’s eager to learn them. Amanda had a craving for ice cream today, despite the cold weather.  She sent me an e-mail saying as much and telling me to see what Nick and Amy Warkentien were up to tonight.  Long story short, after Amanda got off work we fed the animals then picked up some ice cream and waffle cones then went to Nick and Amy’s. We had quite the time with the Warkentiens tonight.  First off, Amy seemed a little chippy as she …
