A January Beach Day

On the way back into town after the memorial service yesterday, my parents and I went to Costco to pick up a few things. Mom stayed in the car while Dad and I partook of samples while we shopped. After we got back to the house, Mom and Dad went to go pick Erin up and take her to the grocery store. Daniel was tired so he didn’t come along and Erin wasn’t feeling great, or I’m sure she would have biked. Laura and Craig came over and we all had dinner. When Laura came in she asked what had happened to the van. I thought she was joking at first, but there are some scrapes on the passenger side, …

Our Fourth Anniversary

No, this isn’t a picture of me and Tristen during our fourth anniversary. We went to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Star Wars movies tend to come out around her birthday and we’d been meaning to go see it, but sometimes it’s hard to schedule time for us to get out together. Her mom and her sister came over to watch the boys and put them to bed for the evening. It was also a Milly day, and it was a play practice day (she’s the Genie in her school’s production of Aladdin, in case you don’t recall), so she got out of school later than usual. Since she’d have hardly any time at all at home, I picked her up, …

December of 2019

or Griffin’s First Christmas and many other things There was a lot going on in December, as there usually is, and I was very slack in recording it, as I now tend to be. So you’ll get some highlights. Berkley had a birthday get-together at the Pollard homestead. Tristen and I took the babies over there a little early and left before everyone got there, but we at least got to see some of the people we used hang out with when we were interesting. We had a family photo session from La Bella Me, Shannon, who is our friend Leslie’s sister. She did some for us last year too and they turned out great. We got dressed up and …

Thanksgiving 2019

Thanksgiving 2019

Griffin had a bit of a fitful night, which means that Tristen had a fitful night. I didn’t get in bed until kind of late, so when I did get in bed I was pretty much dead to the world until exactly 6:00, which is when Fawkes and Phoenix started making noise. I went in their room to try to settle them down so we could all get a little bit more sleep, but that didn’t pan out and we headed to the playroom probably less than ten minutes later. Fin Fin woke up too, but I let Tristen hand him off so she could go back to sleep for a little while. She was up again around 8:30 when …

So Long, Wesley

Very early on, possibly since birth, Griffin has had a bump on the left side of his lip, on the inside. I didn’t notice it right away, but Tristen said it had been there pretty much since birth. The pediatrician said it was nothing to worry about, but it kept growing as he did. Since his brothers were twins, we decided this growth on his lip was an absorbed twin and named it Wesley, which is one of the names Tristen liked before we settled on Griffin. When we brought it up again, the pediatrician said it was probably still nothing to really worry about, but he did say it might be what’s causes him to drool so much. I …
