Music, Mom and Dad

We’ve had a lot of music the last few days, as well as a lot of Mom and Dad. Tristen was an early adopter of Nathaniel Rateliff to the point that sometimes when I hear his music I think of Tristen listening to it while she’s making dinner and such.  She found out that he was going to be at a free show in Raleigh a while back, so we decided we had to go. Addy’s Seventh Birthday Weekend

Most Milly weekends start out when I pick her up from school on a Friday afternoon.  This Milly weekend started out at about 7 AM when I picked her up from Amanda’s and took her to school.  I was a WatchDOG dad today, meaning I got to hang out at her school and help out around there. WatchDOGS I love doing WatchDOGS.  DOGS stands for Dads of Great Students.  It’s a volunteer program where a dad (or father figure) helps out around school for a day.  This was my fourth time or so and I signed up to do it once every month this school year.  Milly really likes it too, which of course makes me feel good. Father’s Day 2015

I let Milly sleep in the bed with me last night.  She asks it pretty often, but when she moves a lot and I did get an elbow to the neck a few times during the wee hours.  She also inevitably kicks the covers off, which leaves me a bit cold. She always promises to try not to move around a lot, but of course she can’t help it.  I just don’t sleep very well when I let her sleep in my bed.
