Hurricane (Tropical Storm) Hanna 6:00 PM Update

Add my baby sister, Andra Sawyer, to the list of people who have called to check in on us.  She also said that her weekends have become booked up, so they won’t be able to come to see us anytime too soon. Still nothing going on outside.  It’s a little windy, but that’s it. Amanda was going to pick up a pizza on the way home from work, but decided to do breakfast dinner instead.  She’s making waffles, eggs and turkey apple sausage as I type. Amanda’s hoping the electricity doesn’t go off by the morning, as she’s pretty sure she’s going to want to take a shower in the morning, and not a cold one. Zach Dotsey

Hurricane (Tropical Storm) Hanna 4:25 PM Update

Just started pouring a minute ago.  We’ll see if this one lasts longer. A couple minutes after my last post the rain stopped and it was nice and clear.  All the kids who got out of school today had it nice- no school and it was pretty outside for a while. My granparents, Baba and Pap, called to make sure everything was fine here.  That brings the total to my Aunt Robbie, my dad, my best bud Jason Revill and my grandparents. Michael came by (without the cats) and helped me move the basketball goal.  We couldn’t get it on the ground, but we lowered it and turned it in a way that I think will be safe.  He’s playing …

Hurricane (Tropical Storm) Hanna 2:55 PM Update

You can add my grandparents, Baba and Pap, to the list of concerned people who have called.  Between yesterday and today that makes it Aunt Robbie, my dad, my best bud Jason Revill and my grandparents.  It stopped raining a couple minutes after my last post though, and now it’s actually warm and sunny out. Michael just came over too.  He ended up leaving Mooo! and Goat at home, but he said that Hanna has picked up some strength. Looks to me like all the kids who got out of school today got off easy.  Not only did they not have to go to school but it’s pretty nice out. I don’t want there to be massive destruction or anything, …

Hurricane (Tropical Storm) Hanna 1:50 PM Update

Amanda just called from work and said it’s pouring there and wanted to make sure I’d gotten everything taken care of.  As she called it just started raining a little.  It’s a good thing she called because I fotgot to move the dumpster to the backyard.  I also need to lower the backetball goal to the ground, which isn’t something I can do on my own.  I moved it to the edge of the house for now to try to avoid it getting blown over at least.  I called Michael because he was planning on coming over for the night with his cats, Mooo! and Goat, in case of flooding or anything.  Anyway, I wanted to see where he was …

Pinky Toe Pain

I woke up this morning when my dad, Jerry Dotsey, called to see how things were going in preparation for Tropical Storm Hanna and to remind us that if we needed to get out of Wilmington that we were welcome to go to Rougemont.  We chatted for a few minutes then I went ahead and got up to start getting ready for the storm.  As I said, we’re not too worried about it, but we’ve got lots of stuff outside that can be clown around with the wind.  So I took chairs, chimes, flower pots and lawn ornaments inside and turned over the two outside tables we have.  Our yards look so barren now.  I also cleared out the recycling, …
