Happy Birthday, Aunt Robbie!

I forgot to call my Aunt Robbie Horner to wish her a happy birthday today.  It sucks, because I thought about it all day and even said something to my mom about it when she called to see how Amanda, Milly and I are doing.  I sent her an email a few minutes ago because I’m not sure how late she stays up. Nothing too exciting today.  Work wasn’t like it was yesterday, although it did get slightly stressful at times.  It’ll be nice to have Scott back. I mentioned yesterday that it had rained quite a bit.  Well according to the news today, it rained much more than I thought.  There was pretty massive flooding in parts of Wilmington, …

Milly’s First Pee While Being Changed

Milly’s gotten to be a pretty decent sleeper for the most part.  She tends to wake up at 11 or 12, 3 and then 6, after which she usually goes back down for a little bit.  The only issue with those is that she likes to stay awake at 3:00 more often than not. I got up to change and feed Milly at about 6 then Amanda got up with her when she woke back up at 7.  I stayed in bed until 8 then got up, got ready for the day and took Bruce to Dineen Animal Hospital.  Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with our little chihuahua- he was just going in for a checkup.  We thought he’d put …

Surfing in the Rain

As I type this I’m watching The Office with Amanda as she’s feeding Milly, who slept fine early in the night but woke up a lot later on, in the early morning.  From about 6:00 to 9:00 this morning she and I were downstairs.  I carried her down there and we napped on the couch.  I thought it would be a good way to let Amanda get a little extra rest, plus she seems to go to bed easier snuggled up on me than in the crib. Karen was nice enough to go get us some biscuits this morning.  Actually, she got some croissanwiches from Burger King, which I really like, but they’re too sweet for Amanda’s taste.  I guess …

Milly’s Belly Button

Milly lost her umbilical cord tonight.  Karen and I were changing her and handed her off to Amanda in the bedroom, and after we had Karen noticed she had something stuck to her hand.  It turned out to be the shriveled remains of Milly’s umbilical cord.  Now she has a cute little belly button. Backing up, last night was not a good night of sleep.  It’s been kind of a bummer day all-round, actually.  I tried to go out surfing for the first time in I think three weeks, but shortly after I got to Anna and Barry’s it started raining, and I mean really pouring.  Thunder, lightning, severe storm warnings and the works.  So it was yet another surfing …

Babysitting Eli

The Many Faces of Eli Warkentien I got my first one-on-one time babysitting Eli Warkentien for a bit today.  Nick was working and Amy had a training thing to go to, so she asked if I’d mind watching him for a bit.  She dropped him off at 3:30, freshly fed and a little tired.  I sat him, cars eat and all, in the papasan at first.  Harvey sniffed him a bunch and Bruce was curious for all of thirty seconds.  He woke up after a few minutes and was just fine.  In fact, for the whole afternoon he was pretty fine.  He cried some until I threw him over my shoulder and beat his back like he likes it, and …
