Amanda and I both woke up before 8:00 this morning. I had expected to be out longer and had even asked her last night to make sure not to wake me up this morning. No need for her to though- I got up to let Bruce out and had a hard time going back to sleep with all the coughing and throat clearing I was doing. We didn’t end up going out for breakfast like we usually do on Saturday mornings. Amanda went to the drug store to look for some medicine for me, but they didn’t have what she was looking for, or at least they didn’t have it on this side of the counter and the pharmacy was closed, so she didn’t bother with that. While she was out I made myself some jelly toast. She also picked up some orange juice and some Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries.
We went to Wal-Mart and I was feeling decent, but on the way back I was feeling a bit wiped out. We stopped by a spa to pick up a gift for one of the people she works with then went on back home. We were back home before 11:00.
Amanda decided she wanted something more to eat and said she was going to go to Atlanta Bread and asked if I wanted anything. I told her I’d like a danish, so she brought one of those home for me, and got herself a bagel. There was nothing at all on TV while she was gone, so I put it on Grandma’s Boy. It’s a movie about a video game tester living with his grandma. I think it was produced by Adam Sandler’s production company (Happy Madison?) and it was about what you’d expect it to be.
It was decent out and Amanda was talking about going to the beach, but I didn’t really feel like being out in the sun. I told her I would be fine with her going and leaving me, figuring I could just rest, maybe take a nap. She left around 1:30 and went walking on the beach with Anna. I took a little nap, watched some college football (not really paying much attention) and played some Medieval 2: Total War. I did end up overthrowing the Papal States and vanquished the Holy Roman Empire and the Spanish. I think every other faction is against me now, but I’ve got all of Italy now, most of the Iberian Peninsula and a chunk of Russia. Hooray for my world-conquering Scotts.
I called my grandparents today to talk to Pap, congratulate him on getting home, but Aunt Terry and my grandma, Baba, both said he was a bit indisposed at the time. I talked to them though. Baba expressed some concern that Pap isn’t keeping up with his physical therapy as well now that he’s back at home, which is truly a shame.
Amanda got home around 4:00 and made salad for tonight. We were going to Polly and Dave Clawson’s tonight for a small group “leader’s huddle”. Polly and Dave are our small group coaches. They meet with and talk to the leaders of a few small groups to try to help us along and encourage us. It ended up just being me and Amanda and another couple. One other was planning on coming but couldn’t make it. I thought they had one more group under them, so I don’t know if it just sort of dissolved or what. But we had a nice time with all of them. The other couple is expecting a baby in… I think they said early May.
