11 Months of Griffin

Griffin turned 11 months old yesterday on St. Patrick’s Day. I’ve been meaning to do a ten-month retrospective, but now that he’s 11 months, what’s the point? At 10 months, we had just been back from Cozumel for about a week. My mom stayed at the ouse and watched him for the week and Erin came over during the days to help out. The best thing about that time was that nobody who was here at night (my mom) had to worry about Griffin waking up at night and making enough noise to wake up Fawkes and Phoenix, as they were in another country. Since there was no rush to soothe him, Griffin was able to get more acclimated to …

Cozumel 2020

or… The Time We Did Go to Cozumel Disclaimer up front: I’m writing this nearly a month after we got back from the trip. It was hard to to find time while on the trip to document our goings-on, and I’ve just been busy since we got back. I figured I couldn’t not write about it though. I mean, it was a pretty big trip. I am going to try to sun it all up pretty quick though. Okay, so as you may recall, our plane was delayed the day we were supposed to leave. You can sit down in the recliner with him and the kid will start snoring on your shoulder, but as soon as you put him down he wakes right up. So I’ve taken to getting in the crib with him for a bit, which helps. Then around 2:30 we heard a scream. I jumped up and ran in their room to find Fawkes by the door. I got in bed with him and settled him down, but …

Dear Griffin, Your mom and I are going to Mexico tomorrow morning. Cozumel. We’re staying at a resort your mom’s side of the family has been going to for, I don’t know, around 30 years or so now. All-inclusive, so we’ll eat and drink whatever we want, whenever we want, as much as we want. It’ll be fun. The first time I went was the week of the first Valentine’s Day your mom and I had together. Milly’s coming too. She went for the first time a couple years ago and it passed Disney World as her favorite place. And your brothers are coming too. A big part of the reason we’re going right now is that they turn two …
