We ended up not having small group tonight.  Lisa Hauenstein, the poor thing, isn’t doing well with her back, and then Elliot Clark texted Mike Bosclajon (whose place we were meeting at) to say that he wouldn’t be able to make it, so with half the group out we scrapped the night.  I was kind of looking forward to the discussion, too.  Ah well, next week we start on Starting Point.

There wasn’t much else going on tonight.  Amanda and I watched American Idol, which started back up tonight.  Hopefully we won’t get sucked into it this year.  I say that knowing full well that we probably will.

The most interesting thing of the night was the audition of Bikini Girl.  It was some chick who decided to show up in a bikini.  I expected her to not have much of a voice, but she actually wasn’t bad.  Kara DioGuardi, the new judge, got into some odd tiff with her and tried to show her that she could out-sing the poor contestant, but to me they sounded pretty much the exact same.  If anything, it made Kara look like a jealous ass.  In my opinion.

I doubt Bikini Girl makes it very far.  She’s someone who was obviously looking for attention and I’m sure tomorrow there will be plenty written about her, so she’ll have accomplished that, anyway.

We also went over our finances tonight and decided that for us to maintain our current lifestyle with Amanda not working I’d have to bring home an extra thousand dollars a month.  If anyone can think of a (legal) way for me to do that, please feel free to pass it along.
