I went to bed early last night. I’m not sure why I was so tired, but I was in bed with Amanda at about 10:30 I think. I didn’t sleep well though. With the unresolved issue of the air conditioning unit we’ve had to turn the AC off upstairs so it was hot, for one thing. Then it rained really hard around 3:00, and then Bruce got up out of bed several times. I slept right up until about five ’til nine.
It was back to the grindstone today. I had a few things to take care of from over the extended weekend, but today wasn’t a killer back to work kind of day, which is a nice way to ease back into a (shortened) work week.
As of about lunch time there was still no little Maggie Millard yet on the way, according to Kevin Millard. He expressed that when giving the due date for the first child they should add two weeks, since the first one is apparently usually late anyway. He said it’s like someone saying that Christmas Day is coming soon and you’ll be able to open presents, but you don’t know what day it is, so every day you get up all ready to open up gifts but you can’t yet.
After work Amanda and I went to Joel and Mia Kay’s for Small group. We’ll be finishing up our study book, Pedaling Tandem for the Long Haul, next week. Mike and Sarah Nowak will very likely not be there, as she’ll be getting her baby out on Friday one way or the other.
Anyway, we got off track a bunch as per usual, but I thought it was a good meeting. I feel like we, as a small group, have been together for a lot longer than we have. I feel like everyone’s pretty comfortable with each other, especially considering that the newest couple, Chris and Christy Sikes, have only been with us for a few weeks.
Amanda was really tired by the end of group and went to bed as soon as we got home.
