I finally got Amanda to watch the first episode of Game of Thrones tonight!  She asked a few questions, but I didn’t answer anything that would give anything away.  She told me she could take it or leave it so far, which is about what I expected.  It was only the first episode though.

I really liked watching it after having read all the books.  I couldn’t help but think about where the story takes all the major characters.  I also can’t help but think that HBO has got a job in front of them if they want to tell a lot of the story that is told through character memories.  Still, they did a great job with season one so there’s no reason to think season two won’t be just as good.  I’m wondering if they’re going to call the whole series Game of Thrones though, since that’s just the title of the first book and the series is called A Song of Ice and Fire.  Game of Thrones does have a better ring to it.

Speaking of all that, I started reading the newest book, A Dance with Dragons, last night.  This book goes back and tells what was happening with some of the characters that were left out of A Feast for Crows during the chronology of that book, catches up to it and moves forward a little.

In other news, Milly was a bit sick today.  She didn’t seem to feel too bad for the most part, but she was stuffy and she was a bit more sensitive to things.  For example, Bruce stole a pizza crust right from her hand (and got locked up as a result) and you’d have thought… well, you’d have thought something particularly terrible happened to her.  I’m a little tired and I guess I’m at a loss for a good analogy.

Milly continues to thank Jesus for things.  As we were scooting down the steps first thing this morning (something she’s been more apt to want to do since we got back from my parents’ house) she stopped, put her hands together and said thanks for yellow ball.  Tonight before bed it was Mommy, outside, lights and a couple other things I think.  All good things to be thankful for, to be sure.
