The internet was out at the Paynes’ house, so I found a Starbucks to work at. Uncle Bernie came by the Paynes’ house to pick Dad up and I took the car. I got a bit done then met the two of them, Baba, Uncle Tom, Uncle Steve and Aunt Terry at a restaurant called Ramsey’s.
It took me a bit to get to Ramsey’s, actually. I punched it in on the GPS, but I didn’t realize there were four Ramsey’s and two Ramsey’s Diners until I was just about in downtown Lexington and realized that couldn’t be right. So yeah, I delayed them a bit.
I sat next to Baba at the restaurant. I talked to her some, but she was very quiet and hard to hear. I had a good time catching up with my aunt and uncles though.
We spent the next little bit at the place Baba stays, Sayre Christian Village. We took a tour of the Alzheimer’s wing because they’re considering moving her there. They all asked a lot of questions of the lady who showed us around. Afterwards we went back and spent some time in Baba’s room. My trip to Europe came up, so I got the photobook I’d brought along to show everyone.
Later on we went to Lexington Live, or whatever they call the downtown event with beer, food and live music. Last time we came we couldn’t go five feet without bumping into someone my dad or one of my uncles knew. This time I think Dad saw one guy he knew. Steve was supposed to meet us out there, but he ended up not coming.
We went to Joe Balogna’s for dinner. Tom ordered the pizza and it was very good. Afterwards we all crashed Steve’s place and sat outside talking to him and Aunt Ramona. I had a really good time just hanging out with everyone today.
Back home, Amanda and the small group girls went to Indochine for a girls’ night out.
