Tristen was looking for things for us to all do this weekend and saw that there was a production of The Wizard of Oz at the Cape Fear Community College Wilson Center. She was going to get tickets for all of us, but they weren’t exactly cheap. I told her that she had found it and it had been a while since she and Milly had done something, just the two of them, so she should just get two tickets and have a nice time out with her, then I could join them for dinner or something afterwards.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Tristen felt really bad today, so she wallowed on the recliner while Milly and I dressed up and had a daddy-daughter date. She had no idea what we were doing until we got there. The kid absolutely loves surprises, so that was fun. Outside of Milly constantly bugging me about buying her some overpriced concessions, we had a really nice time. We sat in the balcony and she ended up sitting in a booster seat on top of that, but the seats weren’t bad.
Tristen was feeling a bit better by the time the play was over, so we picked her up, walked around downtown a little, then went to Fat Tony’s for dinner.
