Cyra took Amanda to work this morning so I could do some running around. Unfortunately, Milly decided to stab me in my left eye with her finger as I was getting her out of the crib first thing today and I’m pretty sure she scratched my cornea. Now, I’ve had things like that happen before in my life, but this one was really pretty bad. When I did decide to go out to get the check I didn’t make it down our road (which is probably a quarter-mile long) before realizing it was a bad idea. My eye watered up and shut itself so that I could hardly keep either one open and sometimes when I opened them back up I was a little dizzy. Definitely not the best way to drive through town, especially with a baby in the car.
Fortunately, I’ve got some really good friends. Nick was working a half-day today and drove me around while Amy watched Milly and Eli. On the downside, I’d gotten Milly dressed up all cute because I was planning on stopping somewhere for lunch and eating together, just to have her out and about with me since we hardly ever do that. Regardless though, big thanks to the Warkentiens.
Back to the eye. Towards the end of the day it felt the way you feel when you’re trying as hard as you can to keep your eyes open, but you’re so tired that you just can’t, and you get that kind of internal concentration noise about halfway between your eyes and your ears. Do you know at all what I’m talking about with that? Anyway, I felt really tired, so I ended up taking a nap after Amanda got home and slept until it was Milly’s dinner time, which is 7:30.
Amanda and I watched some TV, but I’m about to go to bed, and it’s pretty early for me.
