As soon as Karen took Milly this morning I went over to First Quality Import so Dave could take a look at the Steak’s AC.  Actually I left as Karen was still getting Milly situated in the van.  I had some things to do and wanted to get a move on.

Sure enough, the air conditioning issue was that the transistor (is that right?) had burned out.  It wasn’t a huge thing, but it took a little time for the replacement to get there.  I got to talk with Bonnie a bit though, as well as some friends of hers and the preacher from her church.  I really enjoyed talking to him.

I saw Amanda as well.  The pressure in one of her tires was low yesterday and we filled it up, but it was low again on her way to work, so she figured there was a leak somewhere.  Sure enough, on her way to the car for her lunch break she saw something in it.  She’d arranged to drop off the car and for Cyra, who was going to be checking on her dogs anyway, to follow her to the shop then drop her back by after work to pick it up.

There wasn’t much to note about my day, really.  Got some work done, though I got a late start.  Milly came home around 3, maybe a little later, and said she was tired.  She rested on the couch and watched some shows.  Around 5:00 she said she wanted to watch something on Netflix and settled on Disney’s Hercules, which she said she’s seen before, but I don’t think she had.  I hadn’t either, so I got the ZachBook and sat on the couch to watch it with her.  We had to skip a big chunk of the fight at the end with some kind of lava and ice demon monsters, but otherwise I think she generally enjoyed watching it.

We finished off some pot pie Amanda made last week for dinner.  It had dried out a bit, so we gave the remnants to Harvey.

Milly-yogaMilly was entertaining this evening.  We played Give Me That Milly and ended up tickling her and tossing her on the bed, which she had us do over and over again.  I was going to read a book to her, but she found a book of yoga on the bookshelf in our room and flipped through the first few pages, doing all the moves.

After that she went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and pee before bed.  She closed the door behind herself and told us not to look, which isn’t uncommon these days, but after she’d been in there a few minutes Amanda asked what she was doing.  I went to check on her and she’d locked the door.  (We have a “key” for the locks in the house, but we still have to tell her not to do that now and then.)

When we got to the door Milly was saying that she had spilled some powder.  What was she doing with the powder?  Try to make her skin white like Mulan’s.  She had tried to clean up after herself, but her solution to cleaning up the spilled powder was to pour a cup or three of water on the floor.  On the plus side, that floor is probably now cleaner than it’s been in a couple years.

I gave Milly a quick bath, mainly just washing the powder off her legs, then we did Dance in the Air followed by Milly quickly making Mommy’s and my haircut nice (with a brush and some fake scissors).  She then wanted to read The Lorax, but as I was reading she was brushing Cobb, so I skipped chunks of pages at a time and finished it in about a minute.  I was a little surprised she didn’t notice me skipping around and even more surprised she didn’t note that I got through the book so fast.  I guess she was just that into brushing the cat.

Amanda spent the next few hours watching the finale of The Bachelorette.  I just messed around on the computer a bit.

Our Shutterfly photobook, the one we put together for the Eurotrip, came today.  The quality was fantastic, but unfortunately the corners got a little smashed in transit.  I also noticed a typo that somehow both Amanda and I had missed: Magna Carta was called Manta Carta.  I fixed that then had an online support chat and explained about the corners being messed up.  I mean, it’s not terrible, but when we paid $30 for the thing, we just want to make sure it looks perfect for as long as we can, ya know?  Even the box it was shipped in was a little messed up.

The lady I was on the chat with took a minute to look at something then, I guess because we don’t have a history of reporting issues, said they’d send us another one with next day shipping.  We were obviously thrilled about that and praised their customer service on Facebook and Twitter.
