Milly woke up at 2:00 this morning and was complaining that Lady, her light-up ladybug, wouldn’t come on.  I brought her downstairs (I was actually still up anyway) and we changed out the batteries.  It wouldn’t have been a big deal, but her nightlight went out a few days ago, and in the interest of weening her off it, I haven’t put a new bulb in it yet.

She went back to bed just fine, but she was up again at some point not long after saying she was ready to get up for the day.  I don’t think it was yet 3:00, so we told her she couldn’t do that, but we did let her get in bed with us.  She snuggled with me a bit.  I think she got back in her bed at some point, but I can’t remember if it was before or after Amanda got up.

When I got home from my meeting yesterday, Milly was upstairs sleeping.  I woke her up, but she stayed upstairs for a while.  I don’t know if she ever actually went back to sleep, but she was certainly not being very active, so I’m thinking that’s why she was awake so early.

For my part, my usually good internal alarm clock misfired and I woke up a few minutes after 8:00, which is fine some days, but not on days when I leave the house at 8:20 to take Milly to school.  We rushed, but I found her some clothes, got her some food, fixed her some lunch and still made it out on time.  I did forget my glasses, but that’s pretty minor.

I spent a chunk of the morning doing the reading for small group.  The study we’re doing is a good one.  I like that our group is very open and feels comfortable about talking about just about anything.

Michael and Jenn watched Milly tonight.  She made a treasure map and hid some treasure (a few of her toys in a plastic bag) before they came over.  Apparently they found it, since I saw the toys on the kitchen table.
