I’ve been bad, I know. I think the last few times I’ve written in here consistently that’s what I’ve said. Too much time has gone by at this point and I haven’t made many notes or summaries like I usually do, so I’ll just sum up the last little bit.

Let’s start with today. The Super Bowl was boring. It was the Seattle Seahawks against the Denver Broncos and the final score was 43-8, Seattle. I chose to go for them just because they’ve never won a Super Bowl, but man, the game got out of hand quick and nothing seemed to go right for the Broncos. Even the very first play after kickoff, it was a weirdly messed up snap that lead to a safety.

Let’s back up to the rest of the day. I got up early and ran a camera at church. Nick asked me yesterday if I’d be able to fill in with that. I stayed backstage during both services because I shot a spot for the internet broadcast.

I can’t remember if she texted it to me or told me after the service, but she said that Milly really wanted to see me and wanted to show me the outfit she picked out.  I let Amanda get her from Grow Zone then I walked to the end of the hall where they’d come out.  Along the way Tristen saw me and walked down there with me, and when I finally saw Milly (wearing a black dress and her sparkly red Jesse boots) I said, “Milly!”  Her eyes lit up and she started running towards me and she shouted, “Tristen!” as she ran straight to our friend.  It’s okay.  A minute later, Ada Warkentien came up and said “Zach!” and gave me a big smile.

Amanda and Milly left soon after I got home to go to the Sawyers’.  Amanda and Tristen were meeting up to work on some baby shower things for Joshua Johnson (we’re calling him Jojo).  Nick Meyer came over in the meantime and we talked about wives and such.

We planned to go over to Nick and Amy’s to watch the Super Bowl, and we did, but first we had to put up with the worst behavior we’ve ever experienced from Milly.  It started with her wanting to change from Anna braids to an Elsa braid.  Amanda told her we didn’t really have time to do that and that she’d do it for her tomorrow.  That wasn’t good enough for Milly.  She ended up pitching a fit about it and I finally took her to go in the corner, but she wouldn’t do that and was pitching more of a fit.  Long story short, she got spanked several times over the course of half an hour (including her first two spanks by Amanda, if that says anything) for screaming and flailing.

She was, of course, fine after we got to the Warkentiens’.  Nick joined us, though Tristen was already planning to watch it with her dad.  She sent a text to me, Amanda and Amy, so I started a new one with all of us plus Nick Warkentien.  The four of us spent most of the first half of the Super Bowl carrying on a full blown conversation on our phones, even though we were all in the same room.  It was pretty funny, actually.  Of everyone in the room, I think I was the only one paying attention to the game.

That was pretty much it.  The kids played great together in the playroom together.  We all watched the halftime show then took off.  Back home, Amanda and I watched a bit more of the Super Bowl, but I was starting to pity the Broncos, who were scoreless until the end of the third quarter.  We ended up watching a few other shows.
