Wow, there was so much to write about yesterday that I don’t really feel like there’s much to say for today. Amanda fixed spaghetti with meatballs, Amy brought some bread and we ate dinner. Nick, who was still working at church, came over then we watched the two hour season premiere of Lost. That’s really about all that happened today.
Oh, before Lost came on we (mostly I, and Amanda a little bit) were watching some basketball. I wouldn’t have cared all that much, except when I was glancing at the scores I saw that Wake Forest, the #1 team in the nation, was down by ten points to Virginia Tech. I decided to watch that game. Amanda was pulling for the Demon Deacons because a) they’re a North Carolina team and b) she doesn’t like Virginia Tech for several reasons, most notably because of former (dirty) player Deron Washington and their coach, Seth Greenberg. I was pulling for Virginia Tech because, if Duke beats Maryland like they should on Saturday, it will move the Blue Devils from #2 to #1.
Anyway, the last time Wake Forest lead in the game was 8-7 with 15:50 left in the first half. As mentioned before, the Hokies got a decent lead, but towards the end of the game it looked like they were trying to give it away. They did end up winning with a final score of 78-71. Tough luck, Deacs. My only hope now is that they drop to third place, because historically, every a #1 and #2 ranked team from the same state have faced off, the #2 team has won. It’ll be a tough game for Duke, regardless.
Carolina also hosted the Clemson Tigers tonight. The Tigers had been undefeated until they lost to Wake Forest this past weekend, and they hung in the fist half pretty good but then Carolina caught on fire and rolled them, 94-70. Heels fans are rejoicing because they feel they’re back. Clemson has never won at Carolina, this being their 54th loss in a row there. We didn’t watch that game, as it was on during Lost.
