I read The Lorax to Milly today.  It was the first time I’d read it, actually.  I didn’t remember Dr. Seuss books being as full of lessons as they are.  And just to let you know, “a Thneed’s a fine something that all people need.”  A little later Amanda read Horton Hears a Who to her, because “a person’s a person no matter how small.”  I like listening to Amanda read to Milly, even though we differ on the pronunciation of Truffula trees.  I say “truff-uh-luh” and she says “troo-foo-luh”.  Tomatoes tomahtoes I guess.  I think in a couple years one or the other of us will get a correction from Milly, and that will be the official pronunciation.  Of course if she corrects me I’ll likely tell her that her mother is wrong.

Milly graduated to her cloth diapers today.  This was spurred in part by the fact that we’re about out of size 1 diapers and don’t want to buy any more, but Amanda put her in one and it fit her, so we figure it’s time to start using them.  These cloth diapers aren’t like the cloth diapers from when I was growing up, which hung around the house for years to be used as cleaning rags and the sort.  These are well-insulated and easily cleaned with snaps to adjust the size as well as to fasten them on.  They should be all we need until she’s potty trained, and when we have Kid #2 we should be able to keep using them then.

Amanda took Milly and went out with some of her mom’s friends to eat at McAlliser’s today.  I felt a little odd being alone in the home.  I did go out and drop off a picture of the Millster that we printed up for Karen on my way to pick up my paycheck, but I was still home alone for a while.

While I was out I finally stopped at the new Cookout right next to campus.  My burger was great, but I think I overdid the caramel fudge milkshake.  It was good, but it was too… heavy, I guess.

Other than that I just worked and after we put Milly to sleep we watched a little TV before heading to bed.
