Amanda called in sick today. Amanda never calls in sick for work, so I know she was feeling terrible. I think this is the first time she’s ever done it at her current job.

I was out of the house for over half of the day. Tim and I had planned to meet at The Connection, so meet we did. We were there until nearly 2:00 talking about plans for the company while getting work done at the same time. I saw a couple people I know up there, too. Mike Paschal, from church, was up there studying. I also finally met Laurence Maultsby. I’ve done quite a bit of work with Laurence since I started working here, but I’d never actually met him until today. Tim saw him walk in and said he thought it was Laurence. I called his name as he walked by, but not getting a reaction we figured it wasn’t him. I guess he just didn’t hear us though, because we heard his name when he was ordering some food, so a minute later I walked up to him and said, “I thought you said you’d recognize me if you ever saw me.” He looked at me for a second and said, “Zach?” So we talked briefly but then I had to get back to work.

Since my laptop broke, Tim brought an old laptop of his for me to use so I could still go out and work. It’s a tablet PC, so I had a lot of fun playing with it using Photoshop. I really liked being able to draw on the screen later.

I got home around 2:00 to find Amanda, Michael and Bruce watching Racing Stripes. Bruce had been comforting Amanda all day. I had a lot of work to do, so I shut myself upstairs until about 6:00, coming down now and then to say hi to Amanda and grab some cold pizza.

Amanda went to sleep pretty early- right after How I Met Your Mother in fact. I played some Gears of War with Michael then played some Oblivion until the disc suddenly became unreadable for some reason. After that I finished catching up on Extras and caught up on some Boston Legal. A week ago our DVR was nearly overloaded, but it’s manageable now. I still need to finish watching episodes of The Sopranos from last year.
