This is a MySpace letter I wrote in response to one sent from my friend Chris Reeves today.  I just thought it summed up a lot of things going on right now, so I figured I’d post it here.

I’ve never been as northwest as Minnesota.  Is it as exciting as I always imagined?  What’d AA do to you?  Back when I flew more it was mostly with Delta.  I can’t remember any particularly bad experiences I’ve had with any particular airline, but I do remember that last year when Erin flew in from the VI they not only sent her luggage somewhere else, but then by the time they drove it out to my parents’ house she was in Kentucky then on her way to Portland.

We’re all doing good here.  We’ve spent a lot of time planting green things in the backyard and some in the front, many of which, to our shock, are still green.  To answer all your questions:

-The tablet: I’ve been enjoying it.  I keep starting projects then moving on to other ones before I get too far into it.  I wasn’t too keen on it at first, but then I actually downloaded the drivers and it worked much better.  Surprising how that works.  Most of what I’ve done so far is just coloring in images I’ve found, although I have drawn a thing or two and even used it to help blend in some elements of a picture I gave to Amanda’s cousin of her grandparents for her high school graduation.  The grandfather turned out much better than the grandmother, but I was on a bit of a time crunch.  At some point maybe I’ll show you some other stuff I’ve done.

-Andra: Recently graduated from UNC-Charlotte in four years, working and with a kid.  I’m very proud of her.

-The rest of the family: Near as I can tell, Dad golfs, Mom plays with her horses, Erin is working (haven’t talked to her in a few weeks) and Adam got a job as an IT guy at a pharmaceutical call center, which he likes very much.

-Bruce is doing great as always.

-The lawn: While we have planted a number of plants that have done well, the lawn itself is sort of, well, pathetic.  Doesn’t help that we have sand for soil here.

Yeah, open invite, come on down any time.  The new word, by the way, is hiv or hivvy.  So, “I hope you’re doing hivvy.”

I purchased hivvy.com the other day.  I’ve just gotten to where I really like the word.  No idea what I’m going to do with it.  Maybe I’ll just give e-mail addresses to friends or something.

Today was another busy one, but I feel like I made some progress.  I got a number of quotes out an a few projects started, which is good.

I felt like eating pizza for lunch today, but then I thought Amanda might want some too, so I tried to call her to see if she wanted to do that for dinner.  I figured I could eat leftovers from Monday if she did want pizza tonight, or if she didn’t, I’d get a pizza and eat the leftovers for dinner.  Well, I called and didn’t get through to her immediately, so I figured I’d go ahead with it.  I called the Domino’s up the road (because I worked at Papa John’s for a while and just felt like having a Domino’s pizza) but in calling around I discovered that it had moved to Gordon Road.  Not that it was far, but it wasn’t a minute and a half up the road anymore and I didn’t feel like driving far enough for it nor paying for a tip so I put it off.  By then I didn’t feel like eating the leftovers so I had a couple handfuls of peanuts and I got back to work.

Amanda got back with me around 2:00 I think, and she was amenable to pizza, so we left after she got back to pick it up from Papa John’s.  I didn’t mind, and it was pretty good.  With nothing else on the TV and nothing we both watch on the DVR I asked if she’d mind watching  Boston Legal (I had about five of them I haven’t gotten around to watching yet) so we watched that and munched on pizza.

Michael had gone out with his buddy Matt to look at apartments.  They grabbed some food from PT’s Grille and came back home to fill out their applications.  Other than that we (with the exception of Amanda) played some Guitar Heroes II then watched a new episode of Ghost Hunters.  This one took place in the Hellfire Tunnels underneath an old estate in England.  There were some voices they caught plus a light that appeared at the end of a tunnel when nobody was there.
