This is what I wrote to Amanda this morning:

Our daughter was in the guest room laughing at Cobb, who was on the bed.  I went to check on her and she told me to turn off the light and shut the door as I was leaving.  Of course.  So a few minutes later I heard her saying “down.”  Great, I thought, now she’s figured out how to get on the bed!  Maybe.  Maybe it was something else, right?  I went to check on her and, lo and behold, she had locked herself in.

So now I’m thinking, she’s on the bed, she wants down, she’s going to fall on the concrete floor and I won’t be able to open the damn door!  So I ran upstairs to get that lockpick thing and realize that the guestroom lock isn’t like the other locks.  Fortunately I was able to get it quicker than we got the upstairs one the other day.  And yeah, there she was standing up on the bed.

This was the third time in the last couple weeks that she’s locked herself in a room.  What I’ve come to realize is that she think the locks are buttons, and she likes pushing buttons.  I put a piece of tape on the guest room door so it won’t latch, but we’re going to have to do something about the lock in her room.

I had two good meetings this afternoon, the first with an existing client who wants to do something new and the second with a new client referred by another new client.  Exciting times!

We had small group at our house tonight, though we’re taking time off the study since half our group is out of the state (and out of the States, in one case).  Amanda fixed spaghetti with meat sauce, bread and a salad for dinner.  The Andrewses brought some drinks and Steph brought some cheesecake.

Tonight may have been the first night we’ve had small group at our house that Milly was actually good the whole time, so that was nice.

Amanda feels fine from whatever minor sickness she had the other day, but she was feeling a little forgetful, like she was still out of it.  She was also achy, so I gave her a nice back rub before she went to bed.  I worked my fingers to the bone while she watched America’s Got Talent, which neither one of us actually follows.  Normally she watches whatever’s on Fox when she goes to bed, but baseball is on.
