I’d told Amanda we were leaving Lexington by 10:00, so she wasn’t expecting me until around 8:00 tonight.  I didn’t bother telling her that Dad decided to leave earlier than we’d originally talked about, so I thought I’d surprise her and Milly.

The trip wasn’t too eventful.  We left a little before 7:00, stopped a Dunkin Donuts for a doughnut and drinks then headed out of town.  I napped, though I don’t think it was a very long one.  We stopped a McDonad’s at some point, but I didn’t get anything.  After that the next stop was Raleigh.

I enjoyed the trip quite a bit.  I liked spending time with my dad and I enjoyed seeing his siblings, several cousins and some old friends.  Baba wasn’t much of a talker, so while I saw her a good bit, I don’t feel like I had a lot of time with her, but that is what it is.

I got my car in Raleigh then headed on home.  Nothing eventful there.  I made one stop for gas and a bite to eat, then it was home to surprise my girls.  Milly was happy to see me and Amanda was genuinely surprised.  We didn’t do much of anything, just hung around together.

After Milly and I went to bed Amanda and I re-watched the mid-season cliffhanger of Breaking Bad in anticipation of watching the new one that came on tonight.  It didn’t disappoint.  “Tread lightly” has become one of my favorite Heisenbergisms, right up there with “Say my name” and “I am the one who knocks.”
