We got a lot of rain at one point during the summer, so Milly and I went outside in our bathing suits while it was pouring to run around in it.  We’re on an intersection with four storm drains, so a lot of the neighborhood’s rain drains right in front of the house.  We enjoyed splashing around in that, and it’s something Milly remembers fondly, because she talks about it a lot.

There was a little bit of rain today that left a few puddles, so Milly put on the rain boots Tristen got her and went outside to splash around.  I mean, the puddles were minuscule, but she was out there stomping in them.  I guess the boots got too hot at some point because she took them off to run around in the sliver of a puddle in the driveway.

Watching her enjoying herself like that, running around with such unbridled enthusiasm, I saw the very definition of child-like joy.  It was a small thing, but it made me smile and wish that she could stay this age forever.
