I went to sleep early last night and woke up early this morning, so I decided to go ahead and start work early today. Now that things are starting to get back to normal at work, I’m enjoying it more. I had a lunch meeting with Kevin Millard today to discuss search engine optimization. I don’t normally name clients by name on here, but he also happens to be a friend of mine, and I couldn’t really talk about much of my day without being specific.
Amanda, Milly and I got over to the Millard place a little before 1:00. Milly and their daughter, Maggie, who is right at two weeks older, got to meet each other for the first time. Actually, this was the first time Kevin and Lauren got to meet her too. Kevin and I went to pick up lunch from Zaxby’s while all the girls stayed at home.
When we got back Milly was banging away on a little baby piano. She didn’t pay too much mind to Maggie. Milly’s not at the point yet where she interacts a whole lot with other kids, although she does smile at smaller babies. Maggie’s crawling around very well and can climb up on things, which Amanda and I are wistful for, while the Millards kept marveling at how nice it was that Milly pretty much stays in one place. I’m sure once Milly gets that mobile we’ll feel that way too, but right now we just keep looking forward to the next step in her development.
She can get around though, just rolling around on the floor. Later in the afternoon I had to move her a couple times because she was pulling seashells and picture frames off the TV stand.
Anyway, after lunch Kevin and I had some in-depth discussions about site rankings and the like. Milly was getting fussy, indicating nap time, so Amanda took off before I did and Kevin drove me home. We only live a couple miles apart.
We had small group at the Kays’ tonight, as Mia’s on bed rest. I suppose she’ll have a baby one way or another in the next week or so.
I thought group was pretty good tonight. Between some of the questions in the study guide on Romans that we’re doing right now and a few sidetracked conversations we got to from those questions, we had some pretty good talks, I feel.
Kirsten, as she does most nights we have group, watched Milly for us tonight. She said Milly was really good for her. After she left Amanda and I both went to take a peek at our sleeping baby and give her a kiss. It’s great just watching her sleep.
