We had so much fun at Nick and Amy’s tonight. I don’t know if there was something in the goulash we ate for dinner or if it was having ice cream for the first time in forever, but we were all laughing and having a great time during a game of Puerto Rico (which Amy won followed by me, Nick, Amanda then Amber). We were just stupid silly. Or maybe it was just me, and Nick happened to be highly entertained. I don’t know. He really like it when I spoke German, and during one round as Governor I made a rule that everyone has to add an -s at the end of every word they spoke, so it would be like this:
Thises ises ans examples ofs hows wes spokes whens Is wases Governors durings Puertos Ricos. Thes hards parts wases nots addings toos manys esseses ats thes ends ofs somes wordses.
Before we ate we went on a walk in their neighborhood, pulling Milly and Eli in a wagon. Eli was in the zone, but Milly was having a good old time: looking around, smiling, making noises. And dinner was really good. Like I said before, we had goulash, which was just noodles, meat and tomato soup (which was supposed to be tomato sauce, but it was good anyway), bread and corn on the cob. Milly and Eli sat in booster seats at one end of the table and Milly kept wanting to take Eli’s food. At some point that girl will learn not to just take things and to share. Earlier, when they were playing with toys, Milly kept taking cups from Eli (though he let her) and so I told her to say, “Please.” She signed it then just reached over and took another cup. It’s a start, I guess.
Milly did great transferring from Nick and Amy’s to home. She cried loud for a little while when we put her down, but she didn’t fuss at all when we got her up and put her in the car nor when we put her back down at home.
The rest of my day was taken up with work. I’m so glad we’ve got Travis right now. He’s landed a couple jobs, which is great. It keeps him busy and makes everyone money, but as busy as I was today I know without a doubt in my mind that I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish the jobs I did get done today and start new projects at the same time. And with so many other things going on right now, there’s no way I’d be able to handle the jobs he’ll be doing single-handedly. I’m definitely glad he’s aboard.
WordPress 3.0 was just released. I think I’ll go ahead and do the update and hope it doesn’t break the site. I’m looking forward to checking out some of the new features.
