That’s the final score of tonight’s NCAA championship game.  I thought it would be a low scoring game, but 53-41, seriously?  That might have been just about the most putrid game of college basketball I’ve seen, and not just because Butler, whose bandwagon I jumped on after my Blue Devils lost a couple weeks ago, lost to UConn, a team I dislike more than any other aside from the Carolina Tar Heels.  Butler shot 18.8%.  That’s just awful.  There was no excitement in the game.  Even the announcers were joking about it.  And it’s not like both teams were playing great defense.  Butler was missing wide open layups.

Just terrible.  It almost makes me glad college basketball is over for the season, but at the same time it makes me more irritated that Duke didn’t make it to a rematch of last year’s championship game.

Ahh, whatever.  It is what it is.  Just a shame to end a tournament with so many close, exciting games with one where you hear the ball bricking more than you hear the swish of the net.
