Milly woke up at 5:30 this morning. Amanda and I both woke up and went to check on her and she went back to sleep pretty quickly. Amanda got back to sleep too, but I wasn’t able to. I eventually got up and did some work on my own stuff for a bit. A little later (later to me anyway), Amanda, Milly, Karen and I went to Beulaville for breakfast with Amanda’s grandparents.
We debated whether to take Milly back to Amanda’s parents’ house for a nap after that or to go on ahead to Mike’s Farm, which was the big reason we went to Richlands in the first place. My main concern, say what you will about it, was that Duke was playing Presbyterian later, and if Milly took a nap I’d miss a bit of the game. Ultimately we decided to go ahead on to Mike’s Farm, since Milly tends to do fine if she’s occupied.
We had a good time there, which was Milly’s first trip to see the place. Mike’s Farm for those who don’t know, is a place in Richlands (technically Back Swamp, NC) that started off as a Christmas tree farm. They added a restaurant, a store, animals, a hayride and more over the years. It’s actually the place Amanda and I got married. Anyway, we had a nice time looking around and taking Milly on a hayride, grabbing a little to eat. We spent a lot of time looking at the rabbits. There was this one little rabbit who kept trying to feed, but his mom would hop away every time he latched on. I guess she was trying to wean him, but it was pretty funny.
After we got back Amanda and Karen went off to get Karen’s van serviced. Milly took a nap and so did I for about 40 or 45 minutes before getting up to watch Duke murder Presbyterian. We came on home after that, though Amanda and I were both pretty beat and would have stayed another night if I weren’t volunteering at church tomorrow morning.
After Milly went down we watched an episode of American Horror Story. It was a pretty messed up episode, showing how the boy- is his name Tyler? I can’t remember. Anyway, it showed how he came to die.
