I have a vague memory of Milly being up when Amanda was in the shower this morning, asking me something.  I can’t remember what it was though.  I was up a bit late working last night and needed some sleep.

Edit: I remember what the deal was now.  Amanda had left and Milly was saying bye to her, but, from what I gathered, Amanda couldn’t hear her.  Milly was calling “Mom!  Mommy!”  I could hear a panic starting to rise in her voice, so I called her upstairs and we called Amanda so she could say bye.

Amanda said she had told Milly bye and given her a kiss, but the last thing Amanda said when she walked out the door was that she hoped for Milly to have fun with Callie at the movie.  She guessed that overrode the goodbye in Milly’s mind, and that another goodbye was warranted.  It was sad and sweet hearing Milly get upset like that.

Allison came to pick Milly up and took her, Callie and Brynn to see The Lorax at the movie theater.  They have dollar movies for kids on weekday mornings in the summer I believe.  Something like that.  Anyway, that was great.  Since we got back from Europe, Milly has complained about being bored a lot.  I try to give her more attention when I can, take more time to play with her and such, but she got a lot of undivided attention and activity for a couple weeks there.

She’s also wanted to play “Give me my Milly” a lot before bed lately.  At first I thought it was a stalling tactic, but then I reconsidered.  I think she likes me and Amanda “fighting” over her.

In case you’re wondering, “Give me my (or that) Milly” is a game where I have Milly and Amanda takes her then I try to get her back all while I’m saying “Give me my Milly!  I want my Milly!” and Amanda says, “No, Daddy, that’s my Milly!”  Milly’s recently added a thing where she makes a chomping sound (“oump oump oump!”) and pretends to eat my hands, elbows, arms and whatever else I can try to use to get my Milly back.  She usually eats my mouth so I can’t talk too.

Milly was in a pretty good mood when she got back, but I think getting up early caught up with her.  Milly came into the office and we were goofing around when she put spit on her mouth then put it on my knee.  I took a tissue she had to wipe it off and she started crying like I’d smacked her.  I tried reasoning with her that there was still plenty of tissue to use, but she’s got some weird hangup about her tissues.  Anyway, she wouldn’t quit crying, and when I told her to leave the room she got even more upset.  She kept crying and going on about the tissue, so I eventually told her she needed to go to bed.  She wouldn’t go, so I picked her up and she started to kick, but she stopped that real quick when I told her she’d be getting a spanking if she kicked me.

I hauled her upstairs to her room and put her in her bed and she started saying she wanted to go to my room and watch TV.  I told her she couldn’t do that right now.  I also laid down the rules that she couldn’t have any toys and that if I heard her out of bed she’d be in bigger trouble.  I told her I’d set a timer for 15 minutes and that she was not to ask me if the time was up yet, that I’d let her know.

Amanda got home right as the 15 minutes was up, so before I helped her bring in supplies from Costco I went up to take care of Milly.  She’d been good about it, so I didn’t want to leave her up there any longer than warranted.  I was right about something though, which is that she was tired.  I told her 15 minutes was up and she could get up if she wanted, but she was almost asleep and said she’d stay in bed.  I gave her a kiss and told her I loved her and that she could get up whenever she wanted now.  She was down for a few hours.

Amanda made spaghetti for dinner.  For dinner, Amanda and I were sitting at the big table and Milly was sitting at her little table.  I was facing Amanda and Milly was behind her.  At one point I said to Amanda, “You’re cute.”  Milly thought I was talking to her and said something about it, but I told her I was talking to her mommy.  Milly was convinced that I was talking to her, and that when I tell someone they’re cute it’s supposed to be her.  I kept messing with her about it, but once I could tell she was getting upset (as I kind of thought she might), I told her that she was cute and beautiful and smart.  Amanda was trying not to laugh out loud.  Milly has gotten to where she doesn’t always like us to laugh when we think she’s doing something ridiculous, unless she’s purposefully being ridiculous.

After we all ate Milly was pretty playful.  She danced a bit for us (and made me e her partner at some point) then helped me and Amanda play games on iPads.

Amanda and I had another low key evening and finished watching this past season of Parks & Recreation.  I’m about to work on redoing my website some more when I’m done with this.  One of my big goals is to simplify the content, but still try to make it informative.

I officially lost a pretty big account today.  It wasn’t a surprise or anything, and the client wasn’t unhappy with the work I’d done- it just hadn’t converted the way we were hoping it would.  He’s still going to have me working on various projects for him though, and he’s just going to pay me hourly for the work I do.  It won’t be as much, but it won’t be a total loss either.  I’ve enjoyed working with him and I think he’s enjoyed working with me, so I’m glad we can continue doing that.
