Having been moved to Team Black, or the Black Team, or the Sub Team of production volunteers, I spent a good chunk of my day filling in for somebody or another at church today. I was there at 7:00 and wasn’t done until about 5:30, though to be fair I did leave around 11:30 and didn’t have to go back until about 4:00.
Nick directed (so I guess he was filling in too) and did a fine job. Glenn, whom I’ve always enjoyed working with, was running another mobile camera and Sofia, a new girl who had just finished training, was on the last one. It all went just fine. There were only two songs for the first two services (on account of baptisms and a video package of a girl who’s about to head over to Italy to help the church there), but there were three at the final service.
Amanda and Milly came to the 9:00. They usually come to the 11 when I’m volunteering, but our plan was for me to meet up with them and go to the beach during my break, and I’d also have more of a break if they came to the earlier service. We checked the forecast though, and there was a 40% chance of rain all day long, so we didn’t go. Might as well have though, since I think it only rained a little in the morning. If that. I can’t quite remember now.
I took a nap in the guest room during my break, but I didn’t feel like it was much of one. Milly came in and out a few times and she was (happily) screaming now and then. After I got up I played with her for a bit then went back to the church. Amanda was still working on the photobook.
I wanted to do some more work on my site tonight, but I just wasn’t feeling up to it, energy-wise. Instead I decided to watch some Netflix. First I watched Superman vs. The Elite, which I enjoyed. Then I wanted to drift off to sleep on the couch while watching some movie I’ve seen plenty of times, which is always enjoyable. I chose the original Planet of the Apes. “Take your stinkin’ hands off me, you damn, dirty ape!”
