No sweet little antecdotes about Amanda doing anything in her sleep tonight.
Michael got home this morning from being out last night. He just crashed at the place he went to. He’s not much of a drinker.
Michael and I both, incidentally, have some facial growth. He said today that he plans on shaving his tomorrow, which I’m thinking is because Sarah doesn’t like it and she’ll be coming by. For me though, I hadn’t shaved in a few days (because I usually only do it two or three times a week) and the day I was planning on shaving I had a bothersome zit on my jawline, a notoriously tough place to shave. In light of that I decided to let it go. By the time it was gone enough to shave without ripping a chunk out of my face I had a nice start on a beard. When I have a lot of growth I’m more loathe to get rid of it, so I’ve decided I’ll shave it after next weekend. Why next weekend? I don’t know. Amanda’s thrilled with my decision.
We went out to eat with Amanda’s grandparents and her aunt Anna Frazelle. Her grandfather, Earl Lemons, love going to Chinese places when he’s in town so we all met at The Dragon Garden or The Chinese Dragon or something like that. We ate there with just Peggy and Earl once before. Michael joined us too. He had a test in his night class so he got out early. The original plan was for him to meet us there after the test, but he got out even earlier than he thought he would, so he rode over with me and Amanda.
I’m not huge on Chinese food, but it wasn’t worhtwhile, money-wise, to get anything but the buffet, so the buffet we got. I like some Chinese, it’s just not my first choise. I mostly ate chicken and rice and a few oranges. I didn’t eat a lot in the way of desserts though. I found out recently that I have higher than average cholesterol. I got the results of the exams and such that I took for the life insurance and almost everything was right in the middle of average. Anyway, I’m going to try to start eating more fruit and spending more concentrated time on the eliptical.
We watched The Office season premiere shortly after we got back to the house. It was good, but it wasn’t as light as most episodes. Don’t get me wrong; it wasn’t bad by any means and had some pretty good parts. It also had the most uncomfortable scene I’ve yet witnessed in an Office episode when Michael kissed Oscar, whom he had just outed to everybody as being gay.
Amanda was working on baking some cupcakes for someone she works with who had quit smoking. She made some of them but then realized she didn’t have any suitable containers to take them to work, so we had to run out to Wal-Mart to pick up some stuff. While at Wal-Mart I called my youngest sister, Andra and we talked for a while, even up to the time Amanda and I got home. Once we did get home though, we discovered that the tray set we bought was broken so I turned right back around and returned it. I was there literally 20 minutes after we’d bought it and the store was about to close, but I didn’t have any trouble.
Andra and I talked a little more, mostly about what tv shows we like and are looking forward to watching. She told me that she was talking to her finacee, Josh Sawyer, during her break (she’d been at a night class) who suddenly freaked out when he discovered that Jackson, their son, had somehow flooded the bathroom. It turns out that they’d given him a cup, I guess to play with or maybe to rinse him off, and he was tossing water all over the place with it.
