Amanda realized last night that she’s coming down with something, most likely the very mild cold I had last week, but she decided she was going to get up and go to the Medac this morning to nip it in the bud.  She mentioned that she wanted to make sure she didn’t have swine flu.

Anyway, I got up and took care of Milly this morning while Amanda showered then left.  We had a good time for a while, but then when I started settling into work, she started getting fussy.  I moved her from the swing to the Boppy next to me on the couch (I’m working in the living room until Amanda gets back), and when I talked to her she would smile.  I love that.  She had her sweetmaker in her mouth and I could still see her smile behind it when I’d look at her and talk to her.

That wore off after a bit though, and finally, not knowing what else to do I just picked her up and cradled my daughter in my arms.  She laid her head against my shoulder and soon nodded off to sleep.  I love that.  I love that I can pick up my little girl, hold her tight and make things better.
