Wow, it’s November. Nearly Thanksgiving and Christmas and another year. If the world ends next year I guess I’ll have wasted more time writing the last 1,945 posts. (More than that actually, as a lot of the early ones are lumped together in month-long posts that I wrote before moving it all to WordPress.)
My calves were sore today, which was one of the first things I noticed. I’m sure it had something to do with walking half the length of Wrightsville Beach last night then trick or treating with Milly and then walking half the length of Wrightsville Beach again. I also didn’t wear the best walking shoes.
Here’s a little factoid about me and shoes. Since, I’d say 2006, 99.5% of the time I wore one of four pairs of shoes: my first Rainbows, my boots, my slip-on black shoes or my newer pair of Rainbows. There have been a few others here and there: my blue tennis shoes, my decade old beat up tennis shoes, another pair of dressy black shoes, two pairs of cheap flip flops (one white, one blue) that I took to Costa Rica, but really I’ve worn those other ones so infrequently. By and large I wear Rainbows. If it’s going to be really cold outside or the situation otherwise dictates it, I wear the boots. I mostly wear the black shoes when doing video at church.
I had a dream last night, and I can’t remember exactly what it was other than the fact that it was obviously inspired by watching The Walking Dead last night before going to bed. I had a dream I meant to write about the night before too, but I can’t recall it at all now.
Speaking of Walking Dead, I kept it on the DVR so Amanda could watch it, which we did tonight. She didn’t dislike it, but I think I liked it a lot more than she did.
Milly was really sweet today, though I can’t even say exactly how. She’ll give you a kiss now just about any time you ask for one and she gave me a hug when I asked for one today too. It was a really sweet one: she put her arms around my neck, leaned her head on my right shoulder and patted my back a little with her right hand, sort of like I was doing to her.
We didn’t walk to the store today, though given how little milk and bread we had, we should have. I told myself it was chilly out, but honestly I just didn’t have the motivation to get Milly all dressed up and go for the walk. I did go out to get those items when Amanda took Milly up to take a bath though.
That was something cute, too. Amanda said she was going to give Milly a bath, so when she was ready to do it I got Milly’s attention then made the sign for bath. She started doing it too and saying it, which is more like, “Baa.” Then she waved good bye and headed for the stairs.
