Milly continued to entertain today. We were upstairs this morning when she decided to go into our walk-in closet and spontaneously started to sing a song from Yo Gabba Gabba that she’d never sing before. It goes like this:

The actual version has some other words to it, but that’s all I know and that’s all Milly sang. Actually, I don’t think she ever did the “stop” part. Anyway, it was incredibly cute, particularly the part where she holds a long note at “still.”
Amanda took Milly to the mall for lunch with her grandparents and Anna. Amanda not only got lunch out of the deal, but her grandmother bought her some clothes as well. Milly, from the reports I heard, didn’t do great. I think there’s just a lot going on at the mall and very little she can actually get into.
There was one point where Earl was walking Milly in her stroller and was shaking it, which was helping her calm down, and some lady walked in front of the stroller and told him he needed to stop shaking that baby. Amanda didn’t hear about it until after the fact and I don’t know what Earl said, if anything. I figure the lady was either an overprotective mother or someone who doesn’t have any kids. First off, Milly’s too old to worry about shaken baby syndrome. I mean, I wouldn’t violently shake her anyway, but riding along in a bumpy stroller isn’t going to cause any cranial damage to a two-year-old. Secondly, Milly has done enough to herself between “whipping her hair” and bumping into things that if jarring her was a concern we’d already be having issues.
I appreciate the lay’s sentiment, but it just seemed really out of place or misinformed.
The Warkentiens came over this evening. We had dinner and Milly got in the pack & play, followed by Eli. Milly thought it was terribly funny when Nick put him in there with her. A little later we put on Yo Gabba Gabba and both of them danced.
After the kids were put to bed, we older folk chatted a bit then played Power Grid. I won, followed by Amy, Nick then Amanda. I didn’t realize this, but I’m undefeated on my own Power Grid board.
I feel like it’s already Friday.
You know how I said I generally only play one video game at a time? I (well, Amanda, while reorganizing the movies) recently found College Hoops 2K7 and I decided to pick that back up for a bit. I’d recently taken over coaching at Duke in the game a year or more back when I was playing it and I started playing through the season. I beat Carolina at the Dean Dome but then lost to Virginia at home for the first loss of the season. My Blue Devils were 16 or 17-0. I thought about turning the game off without saving it, but I figured these kinds of upsets happen, even to the #1 team in the country. We’re about halfway through the season. I thought about hanging it up after this season is over, but part of the fun of the game is recruiting, and I’m wanting to see which players I land. I’m sure I’ll get back to Mass Effect 2 shortly. This just scratches a college basketball bug that I’ve got.
