In case you’re wondering about the new blog design, the old one stopped working.  There was some error I was getting that wasn’t allowing me to save changes to blog posts, which I can only assume had to do with the Arras theme, which I love, not being fully compatible with the version of WordPress I just uploaded.  That sucks, because I really like that theme and the way I had it set up.  The weird thing about the one is that you can’t click the images in the slider, which makes no sense.  Maybe I’ll keep looking for some others if I can’t get Arras to work.

[Edit: Apparently you can click the images to go to the posts.  It seems like that didn’t work previously.  Now if I could just get the featured image to automatically show in the post….]

Welcome, by the way, to the Hausers.  I mentioned the site on Facebook today and Simon asked for a link then later said he’s enjoyed reading it.

Milly went to the potty three times today.  We’re very excited!  Of those three, one, the second time, was completely on her own without us asking.  She was in the office and said something about having to go, disappeared, then when I went to check on her she was sitting on her potty with, well, waste, in it.  The small candy canes she’s being rewarded with, along with the door stickers, seem to be doing the trick.  She broke her potty crown, which is a shame because it was really cute on her.

Amanda and Milly had lunch at Red Robin with Phil, who was in town for a dental appointment with Barry.

I couldn’t stay off the phone today.  Amanda brought me her leftovers after lunch and then went back out to, I can’t recall what she went to do.  Go to the bank and something else maybe?  She told me, but I was overwhelmed at the time.  I think I was on the phone with several phone calls almost the entire time she was gone.  I do know one thing.  The fries she gave me were about as cold as they could be by the time I got around to eating them.

For small group we had a Feliz Navidad party, which really just means we had some Mexican food.  Amanda made a new snack too.  It was Saltine crackers with butter, brown sugar and chocolate chips melted on top of them then pecans set in while the layer of melted chocolate dried.  Tastes like a Skor bar.  Delish.

Small group was fun.  I talked a good bit to Simon and Moni (Monique is what people call her when they’re being stern, I found out) about family history and living in Germany and the like.  At the end of our time we played what Amanda and I call the Blake Game, but the Johnsons call Whimsical Donkey.  We made it Christmas-themed and added a round where the only hint you could give was to make one sound.  I think this is the first time I played the game where the girls won.  They killed it, honestly.

It was 9:45 by the time we were done with the game, which was a surprise to all of us.  Cyra, who was watching Milly, said she wasn’t sure what time it would be to start wondering if we were coming back.  I looked at the clock and it was 9:59, so I told her she could worry about us in one minute.
